What we build

From dappled shade to a solid roof.

Pergolas & louvered pergolas

Classic timber pergolas, or motorized louvered systems that open to the sun and close against the rain - with lighting and heaters built in.

Patio covers

A solid roof over your existing patio, attached and flashed to the house properly - full shade, full weather protection.

Pavilions

Freestanding, roofed, and substantial - the anchor for an outdoor kitchen, dining space, or poolside retreat.

Engineered, not assembled

A kit from a box won’t survive an Illinois winter. Ours will.

Footings below the frost lineEvery post set to depth for freeze-thaw ground - no surface-mount shortcuts that heave and lean.
Rated for snow and windStructures sized and braced for real Midwest loads, not sunny-state catalog specs.
Attached right, flashed rightHouse-attached covers tied into the structure and sealed properly, so water never finds its way in.

Covered structure questions, answered straight.

What’s the difference between a pergola and a patio cover?

A pergola has an open, slatted roof - dappled shade, open sky. A patio cover is a solid roof - full shade and rain protection. Louvered pergolas split the difference: the roof opens and closes on demand.

What’s a louvered (smart) pergola?

An aluminum pergola whose roof louvers rotate - open for sun, closed tight against rain - usually motorized, with rain sensors, lighting, and app control. It’s the premium option, and the one we get asked about most.

Attached to the house, or freestanding?

Either. Attached covers extend your roofline over an existing patio; freestanding pergolas and pavilions can anchor any spot in the yard. We’ll walk both options at the quote.

Will it survive snow?

Ours will. We engineer for Midwest snow and wind loads and set every footing below the frost line - that’s the difference between a built structure and a big-box kit.

Can you build the deck or patio under it too?

Yes - that’s the point of one crew. Structure, deck, and concrete below it: one plan, one schedule, one team.
