Glen Carbon sits five minutes from our shop, and its mix of new subdivisions and wooded, sloped lots is exactly the kind of terrain we build on every week. Concrete here lives or dies by freeze-thaw: a wet 40-degree afternoon followed by a 15-degree night, over and over from December to March. Every patio we pour in Glen Carbon gets compacted base, an air-entrained mix, control joints cut where the slab wants to crack, and a penetrating sealer - the four things that separate a 20-year patio from a 5-year one.
We pour across all of Glen Carbon - newer subdivisions like Meridian Oaks and Savannah Crossing alongside Old Town streets near Main Street, with plenty of sloped, wooded lots backing to the Heritage Trail. Stamped ashlar slate and wood-plank textures in warm tan and buff tones are the most requested finishes, usually colored to pick up the home's brick or siding.
The most common Glen Carbon pour we quote is a 300-400 sq ft stamped patio with a border band - often with a fire pit pad or grill pad worked into the same pour.
